Vail is one of America’s most prestigious mountain resorts that resemble a Swiss alpine village. This also happens to be one of the more expensive resorts, so be prepared to spend some dough while you’re here. It is a legendary ski area because of their vibrant nightlife and of course their world-class mega resort.
With about 5,300 acres of skiing/snowboarding terrain, you are sure to be overwhelmed, especially without a map. People have said that you can ride this mountain for a week and not do the same run twice! With a total of 31 lifts and 3 different ski areas, the Vail Mountain really satisfies all levels of boarders. They have a somewhat crowded front side that is dedicated to beginners, amazing back bowls that are generally less crowded for advanced riders and of course their north facing Blue Sky Basin that really encompass forested freestyle riding and backcountry trails.
Terrain park junkies are also tailored to with their 3 half pipes and the Golden Peak Terrain Park. The park features 9 jumps that range from 10 to 50 feet, so please wear the proper protective gear and know your limits.
Vail’s village area almost overshadows their mountain because of its sheer beauty. Located in Eagle Country, the lodging here is seemingly bountiful across the four main neighborhoods. Much like how their mountain is split up, their neighborhoods are as well to tailor to families as well as partygoers. The village consists of a surplus of nightlife options in addition to shopping, spas and some of the best cuisine around. So if you do not know how to ride or want to just take a day off the slopes and into the village, you will still be entertained throughout your stay.
