Bansko is becoming one of the best resorts with about 80,000,000 invested in the whole area. They are home of some of the longest ski runs in Europe and will prove to be one of the best mountains that you have visited.
Bansko is new to Bulgaria and they situate at the base of the Pirin Mountains. Unfortunately the mountain does not experience year-round snowfall and therefore supplemented snowmakers are used to prolong the seasons. There is about 47 miles of skiable area and the mountain peaks reach elevations of about 2,600 meters. In addition, when you get to the bowls where you can overlook the mountains and horizons, we are sure that the views will captivate riders and really make up for their rather unfinished mountain. This is not to say that their mountain is lackluster whatsoever, but that there are clearly improvements being made to the whole resort.
For freestyle riders looking for some terrain park action, Bansko actually has a pretty solid park with tons of big jumps. The whole skiable terrain is generally surrounded by forested areas, which add to the overall ambiance.
After a long day of hitting the slopes, there is nothing better than enjoying a nice calm stroll through the village. Here you will find a wide array of restaurants and bars to explore. Also, Bansko is famously known for being a pinnacle for pop and Jazz music, making them a little hub of music. In fact, there is an annual Bansko Jazz Festival, as well as an annual pop-star concert! So if you are lucky enough to come during these times of the year, then get ready to bust a move with the locals of Bulgaria.
